Even if you arrive at Beijing South Station late at night, you don't have to wait for a long ride hailing bus on the roadside. You can lie down and rest in bed after walking for more than ten minutes. When checking in, the front desk had a friendly and neat attitude. Upon learning that I had to catch the early high-speed train the next day, they specially arranged a quiet room type in the lower area that was not facing the street. They also reminded me of the crowd situation at the South Station during the morning rush hour the next day, and told me a fast entry route that avoided the queue peak, which took me a full 5 minutes less than the route recommended by the navigation. The first feeling when I pushed open the door was that it was clean and spacious. The renovation and maintenance completed in 2020 was very new. After putting two suitcases in a space of more than 20 square meters, there was also enough space for carrying backpacks and souvenirs. The bedding was moderately soft and hard, and the fatigue of sitting on the high-speed train for three hours dissipated after lying down for a short time.
The most surprising thing is the convenience of walking around. A three minute walk downstairs is Kaiyangli Convenient Food Street. Old Beijing Zhajiangmian, braised hot noodles, and chain fast food restaurants are all available. You don't need to take a taxi to find a restaurant. You can enjoy the hot local flavor just after you get off the high-speed railway. Within a 300 meter radius, there are 24-hour convenience stores, chain supermarkets, and pharmacies. If you are short of daily necessities and want to buy some Beijing souvenirs, you can go downstairs and take a turn to get them done. It takes only 10 minutes to walk to Beijing South Station subway stations on Line 4 and Line 14, and take the subway to core business districts such as Xidan and Wangfujing. There is no need to transfer throughout the journey, and it can be directly reached within 40 minutes. Even if you are traveling to Beijing, you don't have to worry about transportation.
The hotel's detailed experience is always thoughtful, with a 24-hour front desk that can provide hot water and emergency supplies at any time. Even if you arrive at two or three in the morning, you can quickly complete the check-in procedures. The blackout curtains in the room are made particularly tight, so even if you want to catch up until noon, you won't be disturbed by external light. The hot water in the independent bathroom area comes out very quickly, with stable and sufficient water pressure. When rushing on the high-speed train and getting covered in dust, taking a hot shower can instantly relax. The hotel also provides free luggage storage service. After checking out, if there are still several hours before the high-speed train departs, you can store your luggage at the front desk and take a light trip around the area without having to drag your suitcase around.
As a cost-effective old chain hotel around Beijing South Railway Station, Golden Inns (Beijing South Railway Station) does not have fancy internet celebrity facilities, but has achieved the location, hygiene, and convenience that high-speed rail passengers care most about. There is no inflated station premium, but it can provide you with a down-to-earth accommodation experience.
